International Alert’s publications are an important part of our peacebuilding work. They have various purposes:

• Advocating with governments, multinationals and international bodies to improve policies that affect the prospects for peace
  
  
• Providing information on conflict-related issues for use by civil society
  
  
• Raising awareness of what the peacebuilding sector is and what it does
  
  
• Helping companies, development and aid agencies assess their impact in conflict situations
